James Jacobs is the president and founder of Charleston Woodworks, Inc. He graduated from the College of Charleston with a degree in Business Administration. With his degree and a passion for beautiful wood furniture he started Jacobs’ Woodcraft, LTD in 1979. As his business grew, he decided that it needed to have a more regional identity. So in 1983, it became Charleston Woodworks, Inc.

A lot of things have changed since then. When the business first started, all drafting and shop drawings were done by hand. Today, almost the entire business is computer based with all drafting being done through the latest version of Auto-CAD.

Charleston Woodworks has always embraced new technology. We recognize and get excited about the possibilities that new technology can create. Utilizing modern machinery allows us pinpoint accuracy throughout every phase of the manufacturing process.

However, we still believe that even the best, most technologically advanced equipment cannot create fine millwork products without skilled workers behind it. Accordingly, all of our employees are the best representatives of skilled craftsmen in the region.

We hope that you now know a little more about Charleston Woodworks, Inc. and that you like what you see. Thank you for visiting our site and please take your time looking over what we have to offer to our clients. We look forward to doing business with you in the future.
